Think you can get that stuff from Sloman and Larkin, especially when
they've been flummoxed. ;)

I can't speak for Jim, but I have no desire to incinerate Larkin; just
to point out his feet of clay when he comes out of the kiln.

Geez, John, I thought my allusion to an earlier fiasco of yours where
you swore up and down that latching relays have infinite gain was rather
clever, and hardly as crude as your "geezer clods".

Your mileage varies, I guess, 'cause you were on the shitty end of the
stick...

About linear regulators. If it isn't a low drop type, you need 2-3 volts extra to get out what you want. 12-2*4.5 is a bit close. And you could use a power resistor to limit the current.

Even if it is an LDO, one needs to be careful about the drop out. It may very well not be what one easily reads in the data sheet. As current demands increase, the pass-FET's Vgs has to increase, as well.

Well, I thought the "trash your ass" part was actually funnier. These guys have become a bunch of old hens, pecking and clucking and gossiping from behind their chicken-wire fence. They rarely participate in electronics discussions, and then it's not to contribute, it's to brag and strut and insult.

If that's what they want to be, it's fine with me. But JT can't decide whether he wants to be my best friend or fling inane insults at me. He's confused. He's also boring.

Get a life, Fields. You have become the little-old-lady village gossip. It's embarassing to see a grown male acting this way.

PKB, Larkin.

You never respond to criticism directly or admit to technical errors,
even when they're glaring, because you can't and still maintain the
facade that you're infallible.

Instead, what you do is name-call, throw all sorts of shit around, muddy
the water, make all sorts of unfounded accusations, and cast aspersions
as if they were Gospel in order to try to make it seem like it's not
_you_ who's at fault, but the messenger.

Not the sort of behavior I'd call manly, but YMMV, having been brought
up in a testosterone-bereft environment.

Actually, it is far more sad to see you act the way you have these last couple of years.

Your arrogance where none is warranted is so sad that it is almost funny.

Then, you have the gall to think that you can make valid assessments about others' Usenet personalities. Then, you actually think that they match their in-person personalities.

Then, you are even stupid enough to think that yours does match. It would be truly sad if that were true.

You lost when you started. Particularly by thinking that you had already won. You, in fact, lost before you even got started.

I have seen fucktards like you more than a few time in life.

You'll end up with exactly what you deserve.

The really funny part is that you already have exactly what you deserve.

You have succeeded in making yourself into a self impotent twit.

So you don't like it when two or more people sometimes find you to be a
horse's ass and post that agreement?

Oh, well...

Of course I can't speak for Jim, (even though you'd like to imply that
we speak with a single voice by tarring us both with the same brush),
but as for me, I generally only respond to posts which deal with actual
design work, such as in the "Looking for simple way to interface BCD to
serial (RS232)" thread.

There do seem to be less and less of those sorts of queries as time goes
by, but I prefer to let most of the other stuff slide rather than get
into the melee which ensues when you and your ilk decide to start
hissing and clawing at each other.
