The only problem is that surface tension soldering centers the resistor on the *larger* pad and misses the Kelvin pick-up--I just got a production batch of someone else's work. Can you make a resonator on pcb? Loop coupled capacitor plates?

Garage door openers used to use pcb-based oscillator resonators, maybe some still do. Stability is pretty bad. FR4 has an atrocious TC.

People make cool microwave filters on PCBs, usually a better laminate than FR4.
