billions of dollars, Al Gore says, We fixed it.
This is a misinterpretation of what was published in "The Independent"
which is typical British science journalism. The "60% reduction in solar ac tivity" will be in sun-spot numbers, not solar output, which varies by abou t 0.1% through the 11-year solar cycle.
Al Gore isn't going to lose any sleep over it, and whoever stuck the "mini ice age" headline on the story has got egg all over their face.
Particularly since the association of the Maunder Minimum with the Little I ce Age happens to be rubbish.

UPI is barely one step up from FAUX NEWS. sorry to pop your bubble.
IOW, you don't like the message so it's the messenger's fault.
Goes along with liberals calling racist when you disagree with the messengers message. Mikek
It's a cinch that the New York Times wouldn't post a link to that study.

e fixed it.
Mainly because the study doesn't say what "The Independent" - and amdx - th inks it says. The solar activity that is going to go down by 60% isn't heat output, but sun-spots - and it isn't going to cause any mini-ice age, any more than the Maunder Minimum did.

Yep, I read the headline, figure the tree hugging libs hadn't been stirred for a while, so, I brought a few out of their stupor to post. Been kind of interesting, I'll do it again sometime, somewhere, when you least expect it. Mikek

We always expect the right-wing nitwits here to swallow any implausible story that the idiot media offers them.
-- Bill Sloman, Sydney
The message represents a foolish misunderstanding by an incompetent science reporter, so it does happen to be the messengers fault.
Krw is barely up to joined up writing, so it's no surprise that he doesn't understand to depths of idiocy involved. After all it's his kind of idiocy.
