Junction Capacitance of a Diode

I'm currently designing a buck converter with a MBRA340 diode and the only problem is that it has high junction capacitance at 0V (900pF). The junction capacitance drops significantly pass 5V (

Used @ 40V, which you won't, your diode spend most of its time between 300 and 500pF. Say 400pF on average, which is a bit pessimistic.

That's a (400*40^2)/2 energy waste every cycle, or 32mW per 100kHz switching frequency. If your supply voltage is 20V, the losses are 4 times lower. Now, whether it's important or not depends on the rest of your design, which we don't know, but I believe it won't matter much.

Also note that those additionnal losses are dissipated in the... switch.
