I was fortunate enough yesterday to be gifted with mint condition
8552A/53B/55A plug ins and manuals for this spectrum analyzer series. Unfortunately there was no readout-mainframe available for it. I last had my hands on one of these rascals my first job out of college in the Teledyne microwave lab and haven't used one since.
Two quick questions.
- The manuals say that they will plug into any of the "140 series" mainframes. So far as I can tell, the three mainframes in this series are the 140, 141, and 143. It also appears (looking at ebay) that the 141T is the most popular of the series. Can anybody give me a quick and dirty opinion on which of these mainframes you would pick and why?
- Does anybody in Northern California (say, from Fresno north) have one of these working mainframes that they would be willing to swap for pictures of old dead presidents? Or perhaps in partial trade for an extra 8552B that came with the package? Or ???
