So it is a low melting point alloy - how exactly does that help unsolder things? I can't visualize what exactly it does other than help keep all the solder on the pads molten. How careful do you have to be about removing the stuff before re-using the part/board?

The treated solder is not molten, just very soft. Hovig states that it = works great on fine pitch SMD and connectors. Buy some then explain it = to us. I just bought some for all my F#%K-Up's

It's a low melting point alloy. (I think) I don't understand a lot of metallurgy. I think the eutectic point of two (or more) metals is the lowest melting point of the alloy and has an "abrupt" solid-liquid phase transition. Non-eutectic mixtures have a "gooey" range where it's neither solid or liquid... I'm sure you've seen this in 40-60 solder where at some temp it's not liquid, but it still flows.. stiffly.

I have no idea how to think about the "gooey" region.

It's called ChipQuick. Used to lower the mp of RoHS crap solder and reduce the damage to the PC board.

Pretty sure it is mostly Bismuth.

Maybe he's not a muslim. Lebanon is full of christians, among others.

Could be real fun if he is Druze, its kind of a mix of all three major Western faiths.
