Possibly two days late. Nobody's sure when I was born... makes me sort of immune to astrology.

Maybe they could cut you open and count your rings.? Just a thought.
You know guys, I'm still trying to get my arms around this 45# dachshund thing. I've owned dachshunds my whole life (admittedly, "mini's" - but not the "mini-mini" - which clearly have something mentally wrong with them!! Kind of like some of us SED folks..)
But 45#? So I wiki'd it and the article there says standards get to about 28 pounds -- which jives with standard doxies I've been around in the past.
So either Jim exaggerating a bit, or his scale is made in Taiwan, or "Wolfie's" stage name is actually: "Piggie"! :)
On that note, even Herbie can put away some chow, --as long as there's a T-bone attached to it!! Screw truffles. (Actually, he'd probably eat those too....?)
Happy B-day.

I checked my female "mini's" into boarding yesterday afternoon... oldest one is 17#, youngest one is 11.7#.
If you've "...owned dachshunds my whole life" you know that males are often 2X in weight of the females, so a male "mini" might run 34#
A male "standard" doxie runs about the same size as a Bassett Hound. So I suspect Wiki doesn't have a clue what a "standard" is.
Wolfie was 16+ years old, and did get more corpulent, in spite of our efforts, as he went into severe arthritis and his exercise regimen went kapoot... much like mine :-(
