SCADA??? With all of the bugs and malware running around??? Are you crazy? Telling me to jump from the frying pan into the fire?

just because the SCADA software might be screwed up (or atleast not robust when exposed to determined hackers) it doesn't mean that the hardware isn't build to last and be availablel forever

Your response does not make sense. Hardware build for SCADA has 20 to

40 year lifetimes, no ordinary computer does nearly as well. Likewise computers built for SCADA connection have 10 to 20 year lifetimes. You can still get ISA computers for that purpose, but they cost a lot more than current lowest price stuff popular today. Your choice.
