Yes i agree with that.. And you should not have a work table on earth ground that would be bad..... i also have to put the HF starter in a box right now it is siting in the open....

That's pretty much standard practice, I think. Plus, people weld grounded objects all the time due to some things naturally being grounded, like fences or concrete rebar, etc.
