FM detector using PLL

Hi all,

I'm trying to design/build a FM detector using a PLL (4046 with carrier frequency = 150 kHz). Anyone know of any good sites I can visit (there are jus too many out there!) / recommended books that i can lay my hands on that provide reasonable heuristics/guides.

Have you already looked at the official data sheets or appnotes from the manufacturers? If not, that's the best starting place.

"Phase-Locked Loop Circuit Design" by Dan Wolaver is my favorite -- but I'm probably biased by having taken the class from the guy. He's got a chapter on phase and frequency modulation and demodulation which is quite useful. You can buy it at my favorite book store through this link:

The classic in the field is the one by Floyd Gardner, but I don't know if it's still in print, nor can I personally recommend it.
