Jewish Irgun terrorists blew up the British administration headquarters (at the King David Hotel) in 1946, killing almost 100 people, accelerating the eventual British withdrawal. Another Jewish extremist group, Lehi, carried out the political assassination of Lord Moyne (Minister of State for the Middle East) in 1944.

That's odd - the same could be said about the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld cabal.

That's the glory of democracy - it doesn't matter how wrong you are, as long as you have a lot of company.
Let's vote on what everybody's favorite color is!

Seems to a game of "dodgem" going on. What legal action was taken that created the State of Israel?

My point was that no matter how excellent your teacher may be, if
you can\'t learn the material because of your own shortcomings, then
blaming the teacher is just a dodge designed to cover up your own
ineptitude.
But you missed the point, didn\'t you? ...

I know, I know. But everyone was avoiding stating it for some reason. I guess the anti-semitism here is so severe that those posters just couldn't bear to admit to a legitimate reason for Israel's existence.
Seems some German's took out an ad yesterday CELEBRATING the death of Simon Wiesenthal. Sheeesh!
I took my BP pills 6 hours ago (Atenolol + low-dose aspirin). But I'm not easily riled up. I much prefer to give others high BP ;-)

Beta blocker, yecch! I tried that, and I got so winded I couldn't get any exercize, so I figured it did me more harm than good. Lisinopril + hydrochlorothiazide + aspirin seems to work for me, despite massive caffeine assaults.

I think the American system - one or two 4-year presidencies per person, and fixed-scheduled elections, works pretty well. At least it's easy to understand.
Some people (not me!) would disagree with your suggestion that small parties should not have tipping-point power. The parliamentary thing is closer to "proportional representation."
Actually, US "third parties" never get significant national power, just the occasional oddball House member, but do sway elections anyhow.

Everyone has a different reaction... doesn't tire me a bit, just keeps my heart rate down. Virtually any other BP meds give me a racing heart.... I've tried most of them.
I'm allergic to HCT or ANY sulfonamide-derived medications, and overly sulfited wines :-(

Where did I say that ? Israel was formed by Jews 'stealing' much of the Palestine.
I reckon the real problem is that the history of the jewish state has traditionally been seen through rose coloured glasses by the west.
I was once 'pro-Jewish'. No way any more. They simply take the piss out of you whilst taking your ( american ) money.
I guess you forgot that Israeli armed forces murdered Arabs in the refugee camps in Beirut ? ( that's in the *foreign* country of Lebanon btw ). Oh they invaded and controlled much of Lebanon didn't they ? I guess it was democratic therefore OK ?
It's hardly surprising that the Arabs ( and hence Moslems worldwide ) are mad as hell at the west generally and the USA specifically. And under Blair, we Brits end up being your stooges in this unholy mess.

The fact that the protectionists seem to keep insisting that that's the main reason that they're illegal - they "drain our resources".
I guess it's just more Repugnacrat propaganda, then.

Well, then the USA could gracefully bail - just declare, "Well, we've established democracy! Mission accomplished!" and go home. "Hey, you've got your freedom now! Have fun figuring out how to operate it!" After all, isn't it their country? Did anyone ever _invite_ the US to go on this mission to "establish democracy"? Did anybody ever _ask_ if the Iraqis, Kurds, Sunnis, Shiites, etc, _want_ a democracy?
And isn't it fairly common knowledge by now, everywhere in the world except the US, that the main reason that the area is so rife with suicide bombers is because they want the US soldiers out of their country?
I guess that requires some second-order thought, so I guess it's a lost cause.

Bollocks.
Are you suggesting that finding the use of inappropriate military force offensive is a racial comment ?
If the Brirish army had used military force on the republicans in N. Ireland like the 'IDF' used on palestinians I expect you'd be the first to ( quite rightly ) object.

Actually, battles to regain the land that Israell had 'stolen'.
That was a once popular perception of Israel.
Uh ?
It existed thousand of years ago ! Who are you to say it shouldn't exist ?
Actually, it *was* part of Jordan ! Ahem !!!!!
That's because it's not their land mainly.
I think you know that's not going to happen.
The USA should buy it back for them to compensate for all the billions it's given to Israel ( that simply made the USA a target for Moslem terrorism ) . For once the money would do something useful instead of keeping a war alive.

Democracy seems to be what you want it to be.
The USA isn't exactly a great example.
