Ethernet on fiber

Sep 24, 2007 3 Replies

Hi,

I know is easy to carry ethernet signals on two optic fibers (100BASE-FX).

I'm wondering if one may do the same thing on only one fiber. If so what do I need? I'm looking for small circuits, not expensive and big commercial converters.

Thanks Marco / iw2nzm

One method is to use a Wavelength division multiplexing, basically combining, optically, two signals of different colours. It can be expensive, e.g.

Thanks, your link is very useful.
