Earth from AC xfmr sec

Please excuse me if this is too basic. I have a step-up transformer driven by an audio AC signal. I need to earth reference the output or secondary winding so current only moves one way in the load.

Is this a simple as earthing one side of the output? IOW one side of the load being driven by the secondary would see a parallel connection to earth.

Thank you for any advice.

Yes, just ground one side of the secondary. In truth, current will be in both directions in pretty much any useful audio load, though, because it IS an AC signal that comes through the transformer. By definition, AC is bidirectional. Beware that if the load is also connected to earth/ground, it's possible to come up with a "ground loop" that puts signals you might not want into the load. That shouldn't be a problem if the load circuit (transformer secondary, wires to the load, and the load) has only one connection to ground/earth.

Cheers, Tom

This question is nonsensical.
