Diy adapter for PICDEM2 plus --> 16F1828 --> 28 to 20 pin adapter

I need to programm pic16F1828 20 pin chip.

Unfortunately i have "old" tools so i need to make one adapter. After confirmation that i can program this chip with picdem2 and icd2 i was planning to make one adapter board that can be used to connect to 28 pin socket on picdem 2 board.

So, this adapter board should be used to connect 20 pin chip to 28 pin socket. Has someone tried to make something like this ?

Programming only needs 5 connections. (Vdd, GND, MCLR, PGC, PGD). If it's a DIP just stick it in a socket or solderless breadboard and connect the wires from the ICD2.

I know, but i dont know if this is some standard procedure in this situations. In other words, would this be enough ?

You just need to program one chip? Sure, no reason why not. If you're doing lots of them you might want to set up a ZIF socket and a better cable.
