Decided to change the course (TIG inverter)

Nov 09, 2005 0 Replies

After much thinking, I decided to not use the IR 22141SS chips as gate drivers, and instead bought two Semikron 23 boards for $90 total. I would feel better about using them and they seem to be easier to use. The time saved on soldering the SSOP chips to the DIP adapter would cost me more.

Hopefully, I will get them today in the mail. The next step would be to actually make the inverter work with very small currents, like 0.1 A at 12V or so, using a current limited DC power supply and a series resistor.
