Simple answer: How much extra would you pay on the price of a car for this feature?

Thanks, Rich

I saw this done as a gag in the 1950's or 60's. Some guy in the driver's seat of a car wore a beanie with a wire sticking out of the top, and there was a wire ring over the driver's head mounted on the ceiling. When the driver nodded off, it made contact and blew the horn.

I think it was on the Steve Allen show. ;-)

And it's exactly that negligence that kills fifty thousand people every year. And when the car protects the negligent loose nut behind the wheel, it's the innocent bystanders who take the brunt of the death rate.

FWIW, this has been demonstrated in the early days of mandatory seat belts, but of course those facts get buried in the propaganda.

They've gotta save the negligent and stupid, so that they'll continue to have huge voting blocs.

Nah, through the All Seeing Eye of Our Glorious Beloved Infallible Protector, of course.

That's exactly the most serious problem we have!

Sitting at the controls of three thousand pounds of hurtling metal is NOT a freakin' HEALTH SPA!

If you don't go on Red Alert as soon as you turn your key, then you don't deserve to be allowed to drive.
