Any antenna is the same for recieving and transmitting. Only high power transmit might demand a different design for an antenna(cooling, low loss feed, etc.)
reception?
so.
Like most transmitting antennas, it probably does. ;-)
go to: rec.radio.amateur.antenna
They will probably tell you the cross field antenna radiates from the antenna feed cable :-)

There are a lot of talking cows in California - they apparently like the occasional foot massage. ;-)

Can you buy - them? Are they any good for broadcasting as well as reception? How do they work? There was much debate about them 30 years ago or so.

Beverage? Active? Shielded loop? etc.
As I remember the discussion from rec.radio.amateur.homebrew, say 5-10 years ago, Tom Bruhns K7ITM? posted a reference to some analysis that showed that the physical size of an antenna is related to its bandwidth. (One of those limiting case physics things that you can't get around). So the smaller the antenna, the narrower the bandwidth at a given performance.

They work great - but only when well lubricated with snake oil. Oh - and you have to feed them with oxygen-free audio cables, or was that audio-free oxygen cables.
