Cold spray, where do you buy?

Gents,

Running low on cold spray. Digikey doesn't sell it anymore, maybe because of shipment safety rules and regs. RadioShack is also dry.

Where can one get that stuff locally?

Unlikely - here in the UK (very fascist about chemicals), freezer spray is readily available:

Key components are dimethyl ether and tetrafluroethane.

McMaster has both standard and antistatic.

If you're desperate for some tonight, I think they sell a freeze spray at drug stores for freezing off skin tags...

Butane for lighters works in a pinch, in low energy circuits, in a fume hood, with goggles and all the other precautions you'd take with a flammable gas.. Its best to invert the container and spray the liquid out... Makes a nice pseudo liquid nitrogen substitute.

And I still have working eyes and 10 fingers... Butane as a cryogen was one of my favorite toys when I was a teen. Yes, I took precautions...

Liquid co2 from a tank for pop machines is also a option but possibly would create static,, However one small tank would be a lifetime supply.

If you have won the lottery, there is Argon in a Joule Thompson cooler, which is just coiled capillary tubing...

Jeorg, if you have not figured it out by now, I'm just joking...

McMaster is the easy solution, followed by Circuit Specialists. Google MG Chemicals Inc...

Save a polar bear, feed them a politician airdropped in a old seal skin...

Take a can of dust-off and spray it upside down :-).

I can ship you a couple of cans.

Incidentally, "duster" is the same as "cooler"... just invert!

The current 3M ones have kind of a sweet taste to them.

1-1 difluoroethane, looks fairly benign.

Hmm.. 'benign' is almost an anagram for the French word for donut... maybe I should stop huffing the duster.

Circuit cooler is great for zapping warts and such. Slow drops work pretty well.

I had an annoying patch on the left side of my face... Irish skin and too much driving in my youth. I showed my doctor, she called in a dermatologist from down the hall, and he looked at it and said "I'll be right back." He came back with a liquid nitrogen sprayer, said "Don't move" and zapped it big time. Practically froze my head. So, my first encounter with cancer: discovered, diagnosed, cured in about 8 minutes. Cost $5 total.

Thanks! Can't that trigger cancer if you freeze off skin tags?

Thanks, but I'll need it tomorrow. But Spehro's hint with the stuff in the drug store should pan out, we have a CVS and a RiteAid in town.

But my client said that it lets off some evil gunk. Get it on the finger and any finger food will taste horrible even if you wash.
