Neither. It's your brain that's slow.

Any particular numbers that might make you think your connection is slow? What numbers were you expecting? What are you using for testing? If wireless, your slow speed could easily be a wireless issue. Any particular reason you an electronics design newsgroup to interrupt and interminable discussion on global warming to help you with your problem?

Hmmm.... gmail.com account. Oh-oh.

RDNS from 85.54.167.235 yields that you're on orange.es which is in Spain. I think you'll get better speed test results if you use a speed test that isn't 6000 miles away. Here's a list of speed test sites in Spain:

Incidentally it looks like your IP address is blacklisted in Denmark, Netherlands, and Australia.

I'm a Windoze user. If Microsoft had delivered a workable, stable, usable, maintainable, reliable, secure and functional operating system and applications, I would be out of business. When I first saw Vista running, my initial reaction was disgust. However, upon minimal reflection, I was greatly relieved, knowing that my occupation as a computer consultant and repairman was secure for anothr product lifetime. I'll offer a toast and silent thanks to Microsoft and the Windoze users of the world, who make my decadent and lavish lifestyle possible.

As for what I expect, if someone has a question, I expect:

  1. What problem are you trying to solve?
  2. What do you have to work with? (Hardware, software, test equipment, components, level of expertise, size of bank account, etc)
  3. What have you done so far and what happened?

That site produces 2.4Mbps from Australia, typical for results in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
