buy heavily doped semi

Apr 01, 2008 2 Replies

I want to do a few physics experiments with some silicon. Is there a place to buy pieces of this stuff(preferably in cubs or even polygonal pieces)? They have to be large enough to easily handle but even a bit larger(say even

1sqin would work).

Thanks, Jon

Do you have a foundry, or a silicon supply place, like Advanced Silicon Materials, in your neighborhood?

Just play "student" and you can probably get some freebies.

Metallurgical grade silicon is usually 99% or so purity. That should be more than enough doping. ;-)
