Breathing new life into the old technology of "books".

Doei, Skybuck =D

That's true, but in thin film I think diamond is flexible enough. However, then you'd need a suitable substrate as well.

Data is raw material from which information is extracted. You can think of data as the pieces of the puzzle and information as the completed picture.

The vast majority of what's on your (or anyone's) computer is _data_, not information.

Other recipients: I think I just figured out (one of the) reasons for my fascination with dia monds and trapping light in it... Besides from all the nice colorfull spark les and such... like the idea of capturing photos/history in it and such... etc, etc, etc. The I think I just figured out (one of the) reasons for my fascination with diamonds and trapping light in it...

Besides from all the nice colorfull sparkles and such... like the idea of capturing photos/history in it and such... etc, etc, etc.

The reason could be:

Photons are incredibly small, light, untouchable almost... invisible, yet contain information.

If information code be encoded onto a single photon, the perhaps the photon would be a very good/dense storage medium. "

You display ABSOLUTELY ZERO nowledge of physics or ay kind of science. I do not mean that you simply do not disply any, I mean that you actually, posi tively display NONE.

It is as if all your scientific "knowledge" came from shitty scifi movies. and I mean way worse than any incarnations of Star Trek.

I would send you over to sci.electronics.basics but you might interfere wit h people who have a real desire to learn reality. You sem top lack that and f want to waste people's time with f***ed up fantasies that are not plausib le. No matter what DEcadent Linux says, Russia, Iran, whatever,. they are N OT going to nukeanyone. They just need it as a threat. Like back in the 194

0s, the cops had guns but they never had to shot anyone hardly, and most of the people had guns. That is why you necer went for your glove box, the co ps assumed there was a gun in there. they would watch you like a hawk as yo u got your registration out. And they hardly ever shyot anyone.

Ho did we get here ?

Anyway, if you cough up a few bucks for shipping and packoing I will send y ou an encyclopedia call The Yound People's Scienc Encyclopedia. I have read the 1967 version cover to cover, and for fun more recently the 1979 versio n, almost cover to cover. I lack the first three volumes.

It explains old science, but you have to get up to there before you can get to here.

Other than that I do not know how to help you. in fact, I kinda like reasdn g these things as I fall asleep sometimes. but then, I really do not need t hem.

You're a bit funny.

Perhaps you should read more tech news like I do.

I read tech news on a daily basis.

What you believe to be science fiction is already partially science fact.

However I add a little bit of my own fantasy/gut feeling and sci-fi to it to direct people into further research for the near future.

Much research has already been done into optical computing.

So if you believe that to be science fiction then you are simply ill-informed =D

No, it isn't. It is less durable than copper for street lights.

I'd try etched granite. There is lots around, people could steel it, but they don't seem to often do that. Just don't have the pieces in useful formats that could be recycled easily for building or kitchen counter tops. :-)
