Bomb-proof func. gen. power amp

Or they did a three-hour remake of "Stairway to Heaven" with all potmeters pegged at 10. Anyhow, most guitarists I know would have said that a good guitar amp is built with tubes and none of this here highfalutin newfangled trainsistah stuff :-)

along with R on the output, fuse and psu crowbar they sure do. That lot will keep excess V off the active devices in circuit while the fuse pops.

For what? You're the one who didn't understand the circuit.

But that wasn't what you said at the beginning--because you moved the goal posts, as I said. Plus you never mentioned any of these other things before now. How about turning a pumpkin into a coach-and-four, and a rat into a footman? Or base metal into gold?

You sound like my father, he happens to be a guitarist.. And to this day, its tubes only that he likes.

He's 72 and still plays, he has a 800 watt tube amp, yes I know, its much for what he uses it for. It sucks power and I think its a Fender.

I dont agree with your interpretation at all. Diodes will make it more bomb proof, add the other things and it can be even more so, as explained. Of that I dont think theres a lot of doubt

And of course, the correct types of diode are important in some cases.

--- This is a pretty simple circuit and and will get you everything you want except the 12V swing, because the pass transistor and current sense resistor eat up some of the 12V.

Many thanks for posting the two net lists. I assume they are from LTSpice. But when I open and run I get "multiple instances" errors.

Please advise. I would _really_ like to see these.

I guess if you don't know anything about switching inductive devices at high rates, it's not my problem..

Of course you prove, once again, how stupid you are. I was *not* talking about "switching inductive devices" or even about electronics, dummy. Your language skills are zero (right next to your design skills).

They open up and run fine for me. Check to see if this has to do with line endings. I highlighted the text in my news reader, hit ctrl-C to copy the text to the clipboard, opened up notepad, hit ctrl-V to paste, then did a Save-As, making sure to specify the .ASC extension. That's about it. Opened right up in LTspice.
