Another mystery part

I think it is a PTC resettable printed circuit board fuse and have zillions of them.

Beige colored, rectangular 0.40 square by 0.20 thick. Two single ended radial leads on 0.2 inch centers Shiny dipped epoxy.

Part number is

*600 150 QU1X

Other side says TAIWAN.

Low current resistance is around 8 Ohms.

What is it, who made it, and what is it worth?

I suspect these sell for forty cents each.

What happens when you heat it up? Negative or positive temp coef? Could it be used to limit inrush current to a off line switcher?

Gets warm and does its PTC thing above 300 ma.

Still would like to know who makes it and its actual ratings.

Did you look on the TE website? I suspect this is a 600V, 150mA (carrying current) Raychem Polyswitch, whose resistance doubles at

300mA. QU1X should be the lot code. The URLs are all gigantic or I would include them.

We used to use polyswitches eons ago; no idea what they cost nowadays.

Raychem/TE parts have RUE on them. Perhaps it's an early Rachem part.

Or maybe it's a Littlefuse part

They are UL so you can lookup the UL file number and see if there is a document for the part.

There's no UL listing with those markings, in any product category.

Odd. This is pretty much automatic with PTC marketing. There are over

40 Taiwanese mfrs listing their product markings under XGPU2 thermistor-type devices (no actual UL logo required here).

Do the leads fall off in protection mode? Wouldn't stress it above

30V, to be fair.
