See MyDIAC.zip on the Device Models & Subcircuits Page of my website. On my previous attempt I was trying to make it too complicated :-[

I think that most LTSpice modelers will need an .asy file, for the diac symbol used, to work with this easily. ...If you want much feedback.

Symbols are a personal "dress-style" sort of thing.

LTspice has it automated unless you want to draw up something "real purty":

"Automatic Symbol Generation

A symbol can be automatically generated in two situations.

When editing a schematic, you can execute menu item Hierarchy=>Open this Sheet's Symbol. When no symbol is found, LTspice will ask if you would like one automatically generated. This symbol then can be used to call this sheet of circuitry in some higher level schematic.

Also, when editing an ASCII netlist that contains subcircuit definitions, you place the cursor on the line containing the name of the subcircuit, right click, and execute context menu item "Create Symbol." For most users, this is the only method you should consider for adding third-party models defined as subcircuits since all the details are handled for you."

LTspice is cumbersome to use for custom symbols... PSpice is trivial.

Purty_Symbol....png has been added to the zip file.

See...

SubcircuitImportByNetlist.pdf and SUBCKT.zip on that same page for examples of some symbols I have already "in-the-can", just add a model name. Rectangles are pre-made, the DIAC symbol was just a TRIAC symbol with one pin deleted.

I've pretty much given up generating LTspice symbols except for paying customers :-) I can run a PSpice-generated circuit in LTspice without entering so much as a dot... look at MyDIAC_LTspice...png for how I ran the circuit in LTspice, just OPEN *.cir, RUN... allows me to verify functionality with LTspice without liffting a finger ;-) ...Jim Thompson
