I Spanish fighter pilot told someone I know that it doesn't matter if a wing gets shot off because they have a spare one on the other side.
There is at least one recorded case of a fighter pilot landing a fighter that had lost one wing. The air-craft's computers did an outstanding job of keeping the figher flyable even under what amounted to a situation similar to the infamouse bumble-bee...
It was featured on the military channel in a documentary about jets.
Phenomenal skill demonstrated under adverse circumstances. The cameraman deserves our admiration. Oh, the pilot, too...

Yep, it was an IDF pilot flying an F-16 if I'm not mistaken. His starboard side wing was torn off in a training accident. He managed to land it on one wing.
A model at that size/scale costs a good fraction of what a real private plane costs.
