AD584 voltage reference

Stumbling around on Ebay, I ran across a voltage reference that uses an AD 584 chip and provides reference voltages at 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, and 10.0 volts.

There are several vendors in China offering this. One Ebay item number is

111118948593.

My question is has anyone bought one of these and knows how accurate it really is. The price is about $24 and that seems low for the accuracy claimed. If I buy one of these, I will not have a way to check the real accuracy.

Hi Dan

1/f noise which was the paramount problem in our application. We found running it off lowered voltage helped, too, we give it about 4 V. Then, we buffered it with an AD706, which had the lowest guaranteed 1/f spec we could find, TESTED at .001 Hz.

Yes but the voltage references on Ebay claim to be using the AD594L which h as a tighter tolerance than the AD584K. Plus it comes packaged in a small box with a lithium battery , a switch to select the voltage and LEDs that shows which voltage is selected.

There was a mention of them a couple days ago on the tekscopes yahoo group.

Thanks for letting me know they were mentioned on Tekscopes. It took a few days to get joined to the group. The guy that bought one was pleased with it. And it came with info an the actual voltages it put out. Just not su re I trust the report as accurate.

More stumbling around found a reference to taobao.com and a site that had t he voltage reference for $12. Has anyone used taobao.com?

This guy seems to be the real deal:

I believe he's the same gent I've seen on eBay for years running, selling this and similar items.

Hi Jon and others

Found another reasonably priced reference. I have not compared 1/f noise level to LM4140+AD706:

Three different grades; both DIL, SMD; REF102A, REF102B, REF102C.

REF102C +-2.5mV, max drift +-2.5 ppm/°C, 1.4mA, "series regulator":
