a favorite rail-to-rail, uncompensated op-amp

Hi,

I'm looking for a rail-to-rail op-amp with compensation pins that can be used to set the gain bandwidth product, the catch is that it needs to be rail-to-rail output. I have been scouring manufacturers listings but I can't seem to come up with anything. I suppose that I could use the CA3130 but I would obviously prefer a modern replacement.

I would be quite grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

PS: Just to head off well-intending readers. Yes, I'm sure that I want to adjust the GBP rather than stabilize the amplifier with lead or lag-lead compensation. I'm running the op-amp in a peculiar configuration where this form of compensation should work well.

Can you list all the manufactures you've looked at so far? D from BC

So far I've tried searching through the website of the following vendors: Analog Devices, Linear, TI, Intersil, and National

This is not to say that I am certain that none of these vendors supply an op-amp that would work for me, just that I wasn't able to find one digging through their website. None of these vendors appear to provide a "compensation pin" in their parametric search either as a parameter or in the features column, so I had to look up each amp that looked like it might (I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that the minimum stable gain of such an op-amp would be greater than one).

I think that it is more a matter of me not being able to perform an effective search than an op-amp with these qualities actually being particularly rare. I just don't have a good way of wading through the hundreds of rail-to-rail op-amps that are produced for those that offer a compensation pin.

Thanks, Jim

How much gbw product are you looking for. I think most faster amps are going to be single stage amps due to the parasitics associated with running a compensation node outside the package. rail to rail amps typcially have gain in the output devices, so that also needs to be compensated...which complicates things. If you can get away without rail to rail i'd recommend the ad8099, ad8021 or ad829...

You might want to check Burr Brown. Also, there are some discrete operational amplifier modules that may allow you to tweek for some very specific specs e.g. - full rail output. Good luck.
