8 speaker audio panner

Can anyone point me to a full circuit or design suggestions for panning a single audio signal around 8 speakers at a user-defined rate?

But, generally you need to have a sine/cos pan law, which gives you

3dB at the center. If the speaker placement is not symetrical, you may not be too successful
