50 ohm output ideas

I've used that emitter follower and it's okay for a specific application. But if the circuit is general purpose then some loads, like reactive lowpass filters, will blow it up, and the collector resistor has to be increased to unreasonably large values to prevent it. View in a fixed-width font such as Courier.

It's worse than that for unspecified destinations, if there's no 50-ohm pulldown resistor at the destination, the EF acts like a rectifier, charging the output capacitance, which then hangs high.

The nice thing about this circuit is that it is hard to break. Unfortunately, it needs a higher than logic voltage.
