5 khz receiver for pc?

May 18, 2008 1 Replies

Hello i would like to receive 5 kHz magnetic pulses with my pc. Has anybody here an idea about doing it in a cheap and fast way? maybe using the pc soundcard? Some kind of hack.. thank you very much

Yes,

the easiest way would be to use telephone tap coil that already has a plug compatible with PC's sound card input. Radio Shack used to sell those coils. One thing to get the highest sensivity at 5kHz is to add capacitor of value appropriate to achieve resonance.

Hope this helps.
