Can anyone help me find a modulator IC for AM that will run off a +/-
I was considering the MC1496, but thought there may be something newer and without the -8V rail requirement.
Any suitable part number would be appreciated.

DO you mean Modulation frequency ?
Hmm, last time I looked, that was a double balanced mixer? that is good for generating suppressed carriers (Side Bands, No AM carrier).
Please try again to more detailed in your description so that some one here can lend a hand.
Sorry, I did get the part numbers mixed up. I simply want an up-to-date AM IC that will run from a balanced supply. Signal sources will be two MAX038 function generators.
And the carrier frequency was supposed to be 20MHz, not Hz.

Did you look at the data sheet? There are several examples of single +12 V supply use in there. It helps if you feed power to the top transistors through an inductor; then, the whole +12V appears at the collectors.
