Could you please advice some MCU that has I2C interface and support > 8 GPIO. and its cost..:p

how about PIC 16F690 ?
has i2c, lots of gpio, eeprom, etc, easy to use, cheap/free tools.
i don't remember what it costs but it's less than having lunch at burger king.
