EPROM signature, where to get ID list?

Sep 18, 2006 5 Replies

I went to program an eprom today and it said the signature didn't match and that it ID'd as Manufacturer 97, Device 32. Can anyone tell me where I can get a list of manufacturers and devices to match these codes?

Or at least can anyone identify my eprom, Manufacturer 97h, Device 32h?

Manufacturer ID 97h could be Texas Instruments, at least 97h/04h is their TMS27C256, 97h/85h is the 27C512. You see, there is no logic behind the device ID - perhaps you can provide more information about the package size and expected capacity. Or read what's written on it?

Excellent! Thank you Piotr :-) I found version 2.8S of the software for that programmer but it doesn't have a search facility, only select a device from the list but it confirmed your info. Would it be possible for you to email me that list of devices supported because I have now found =another= eprom 87h/32h and I'm wondering what I will yet uncover. If possible, send it here

I'm sorry, I wasn't precise enough, because I don't have this list as a plain text, either. However, in case of your previous request, you can do a binary search of the TM.DAT file for the sequence of bytes:

00h 97h 00h 32h. The device name can be found 43 bytes earlier.

Unfortunately the search for 00h 87h 00h 32h didn't yield any hit, except that 87h seem to stand for the Manufacturer Code: INTEL.
