Hi all,
invested $44 on a Palsonic DVD2040 from DSE this arvo.
Just needed a compact CD player for my workshop - as a music signal source and for my Denon " Audio Technical CD " with its white and pink noise plus
1/3 octave noise tests signals ( 99 tracks in all).Though the Palsonic works surprisingly well ( even has a volume function on the remote) there is a niggling problem.
The darn thing has a background hum on the L & R audio outputs, the fundamental frequency of which is very steady at 194 Hz - plus some higher harmonics. This must somehow be related to the audio sampling frequency of
194kHz.The hum level is about 1.4mV rms or 62dB below max level, it stops completely in "pause" mode but the volume function has zero effect on the level.
Anyone concur ?
