Thanks for the replies , the MC1413BD is a surface mount with 2.7K series input resistors , I don't think the MC1413DG has them, however the ULN2003 does,thanks Phil, Jaycar has ULN2003AD in stock Regards John.

Thanks for your replies, the MC1413BD is a surface mount device with 2.7 k series input resistor , MC1413DG doesn't have the resistors ,the ULN2003 does, thanks Phil, I got some surface mount ULN2003AD from Jaycar, they only come in lots of 10. Regards John
