So after the most recent firmware update, my Shapes set refuses to show up as connected in the Nanoleaf app. Every panel is lit and running the last scene I set, and I can still control them through the Apple Home app without any lag. But the second I open the Nanoleaf app, everything sits there greyed out like the whole setup vanished. I've tried the usual stuff. Killed the app, rebooted my phone, power cycled the panels, even pulled the controller off the wall and let it sit for a minute. Nothing changes. The app just keeps saying the device isn't reachable, which makes zero sense to me when the same wifi network is clearly talking to them fine otherwise. Is there something in the app itself I'm missing, like a re-pairing step or some setting that the update flipped on me? I'd rather not delete the whole room and start over because it took forever to get the layout and scenes arranged the way I wanted. Has anyone dealt with this after an update and actualy gotten things talking again without a full reset?
Why do my panels show offline in the app but work fine in the Home app?

First thing to check is on the phone side, not the light side. If you're on iOS, go into Settings, scroll down to the Nanoleaf app, and look at the Local Network toggle. Updates to either the app or the OS can flip that off or reset it without telling you. Toggle it off and back on, force close the app, and reopen it. That alone fixed it for me once. If that doesn't do it, delete the app and reinstall it. I know that sounds scary, but your layout and scenes are stored on the controller itself, not in the app, so nothing gets wiped. When you reinstall and it finds the controller again, your whole setup should come back exactly as it was. I've done this twice now and never lost a layout.
One more thing worth trying before any of that: check if your phone has a VPN running, even an always-on one you forgot about. The app discovery gets wierd with VPNs in a way HomeKit doesn't, so the lights look offline in one app and fine in the other. Do not delete the device from your account or pull the controller off the wall again. The pairing between the app and the controller is the broken link here, not the pairing between the controller and your network. Re-adding the device from scratch is the one path that actually loses your scenes and layout, so avoid it. And yeah, it's annoying that an app update can silently break its own connection while everything else keeps working. But this one's recoverable without starting over, I promise.
Funny how thier app updates always seem to break something the hardware itself handles fine. Mine did something similar last year where scenes would half load, like two panels out of twelve would just ignore the change till I toggled them manually. A firmware rollback actually sorted it for me, I found the older version through their support chat and it's been stable since. Does anyone know if you can still downgrade with these, or did they lock that out? I'd rather sit on an older build for a few months than be a beta tester for features I didn't ask for.
Following this thread closely because mine did something sort of like it last week, just in reverse. The app shows everything fine but the little button controller on the panel stopped reacting to my hand tapping it. Scenes still change from my phone though, wich confuses me since I thought the tap button was the main brain of the whole thing. I never realized the app and the wall controller could kind of work separately like that. Is that normal, or is mine slowly dying on me?
