Wireless internet router ..

Not that much in an aged cheese -- which is why cheeses don't have as much effect on those with lactose-intolerance.

Commercial yoghurt, OTOH, often has a nutrition label that could be mistaken for a bar of milk chocolate.

Plug the USB into an Android phone or USB 3g/4g dongle and it will allow Wifi clients to access the internet via the phone. You can put the phone in hotspot mode to do that already. Plug the ethernet port into your ethernet router and your ethernet clients can access the internet via the phone. It has a firewall/NAT so the internet side is isolated even if you plug its ethernet port into your LAN.

You can also use it as a Wifi repeater. This is how I normally use mine. Run it from a USB powerpack, it runs for hours and hours. Place it hidden and you can extend the typical free Wifi found in holiday hotel reception areas back to your hotel room instead of paying the extra for room Wifi. Recover it and charge the USB pack up when you are out for the day ready for more Wifi leaching!

You can put stock OpenWrt on it but mine has Rooter (a customised OpenWrt) installed.

This would do everything you need and runs a ready rolled Wifi distribution. You buy, install OpenWrt or Rooter and you're done. Less satisfying that rolling your own complete solution but sometimes you just need the solution without having to reinvent it.

The name on OpenWrt is A5-V11.

No. Not even muscle meat only diet one doesn't endup with vitamins deficiencies. For example vitamin-c needs drop drastically when one stops plants. It's needed in high quantities when one eats plants. One thing many forget is the fact that sunlight is one very important part of nutrition.

On the otherhand if you eat organ meats like liver and such, you will get all the vitamins you need. Just avoid grain fed sick animals and buy quality grass fed meats. Or game meat. Also avoid farmed fish.

24h couple times a week and eat couple times a day on refeed days. But one meal a day is good enough if you eat quality meats.

Like you said in other post ... there is no essential carbs. Also stop all vegetable oils. Those are other big killer people eat nowadays.

Yes. Taste is not that good indicator but then again GI is nonsense.

Sorry.

Remember that pork is high on omega-6 ... wouldn't be eating too much of the stuff.

true, the most practical thing for a diabetic to do is try some & test. unfortunately the medical profession cant understand that knowing what goes on makes managing the condition so much easier & so does not recommend self testing for Type 2's.

The worst offenders are what's known as "trans fats", these are oils that have been "mucked about with chemically" (hydrogenated) for various reasons such as to make them solid at room temp, commonly found in products such as margarine, even the ones that try to make you think they are a healthier option.

Depends on which bit of the professions you are talking about

The problem is that some people are smarter than others. My GP was very reluctant to discuss with me 'what I found on the 'net' as she said - correctly - that most of it is trying to scare you into buying something. Now she knows I am not stupid she was even prepared to answer the question 'within broad limits, roughly how many years have I got left' Which enabled me to do sensible finacial planning.

The course i was on was quite happy to recommend self testing for pre and type II diabetics but with the caveat that the tests are notoriously inaccurate and often give different results two samples in a row.

Incidentally the course I was put on was based on this book:

ISBN 978-1-9997582-3-3

It is a summary of other research and studies done elswhere and it provided so much better information than my GP had, explaining the importance ot total carbs, total calories, High GI and so on. As well as the vital subject of how food packaging is marked with what they want you to read on the front (which is useless) and how the real skinny is on the back in a chart you need a microscope to read.

This is UK by the way.

I would definitely recommend it at the price. Its not 100% accurate in everything but it absolutely goes a long way towards showing you first of all what the linkages are between high carbohydrate and 'metabolic syndrome' and how to control diet to reduce or even reverse it.

Yes it does seem that type II diabetses is reversible in some cases.

I am about two months in and am slowly finding a diet that reduces weight - lost a couple of kg - need to lose 10-20 - that I can maintain. And that is key.

The acid test is hbA1c...that indicates long term levels of glucose. But that is not avau=ialble as a slef test kit.

Self test kits are available online and from most pharmacies.

But beware. Like scales they often dont goive te same result twice!

Yep. Full-fat butter a far healthier option. Also pure animal fat

In moderation anyway.

One thing I picked up is that 'healthy options' are usually unhealthy.

Fat doesn't make you fat. Carbs and too much food does, Eating cholesterol doesnt increase blood cholesterol. High fruit intake can be just as bad as a plate of chips High carbs leads to high cholesterol
