I have a Viewsonic VG170m LCD monitor that when it changes modes I get a bright white flash, the screen goes totally and very white instead of black like it used to. It just starting doing this a couple of weeks ago. It takes a little while to warm up before it will flash, something thermal maybe? The flash lasts a little bit longer than a 1/4 second. When it flashes there is a very thin single black line randomly placed but fully across the screen horizontally, if that matters.
This is hell on my eyes, like a photo strobe going off when my eyes are adjusted to the dark.
Any hints or tips on what's going on and how to repair it?
