Using a VCR with no ch. 3 or 4

Changed to roof antenna.There is no local station on channel 3 or 4, and VCR's normally work only on 3 or 4. My VCR is JVC brand, although that probably makes no difference.My TV scans from the first local channel at 2 and stops at 6, can't get it to stay on 4.How to be able to use the VCR to time programs and view tapes? ms

Most European RF-modulators are tunable on UHF, channels 21 - 69.

The modulator passes the antenna signal and adds one channel. It doesn't switch the antenna signal off, so you can still watch any broadcast channel.

Tunable UHF modulator output. OK. Here in the US, if the modulator is active, all other signals are blocked. And our modulators are on low VHF, channel 3 or 4.
