My brother-in-law has just acquired a used compact Toshiba TV, not sure of the model. It currently skips channels 3 and 4 when scrolling up or down. There is a channel lock function, and when we try to enter it it asks for a 4 digit password, which we've not been able to bypass. We've tried uplugging the thing overnight.
The only way currently that we can get to either locked out channel is through a complex series of steps in the menu where you set which channels to skip. But setting these 2 channels to *not* be skipped does not work, once you've exitted the menu.
Also, I'm kind of wondering, both channel 3 and 4 are often used by cable companies with their set top controller boxes.
Anyway, any tips on how to crack/reset the code, or to regain access to these channels would be greatly appreciated.
