Panasonic CT27G12V Technical Specs

All,

I'm building a DIY Tivo system with a Linux computer output to my TV (Panasonic CT27G12V). I'm having video problems (jumpy image, image 'rolling' down the screen with the bottom ending up at the top, etc.).

I am looking for the technical specifications for the TV (horz sync, vert refresh, dot clock) so I can tune my video driver. My owner's manual does not specify any of these parameters.

Can you please help me track down these specs?

Many thanks, Charlie

I agree with your answer, I guess I need to revise my question.... I set my video driver to match NTSC specs: FH = 15.734 KHz FV = 59.940 Hz The screen image is occasionally jumpy and often "rolls" down on the screen so the bottom of the picture is at the top of the screen and there's a black horizontal line about 1/3 of the way from the top. This is especially common when playing DVDs from my computer.

So I have two questions:

  1. What sort of problem is indicated by the rolling and jumpiness I'm experiencing? Which factors should I try to adjust?
  2. If the NTSC spec is 15.734KHz horz sync, why am I seeing example specs showing TVs at 30-60 KHz FH? How is this possible if it's not consistent with the NTSC spec? One forum said I should buy a 100Hz TV... again, how can the TV not be consistent with the broadcast spec?

Thanks for the help, Charlie
