My NAD 7175PE has stopped working. If I turn the volume up full I get sound out of the right channel and if I turn the balance all the way to the right I get sound out of the left channel. If I back off from either of these settings I get no sound. All fuses are fine and inside everything still looks extremely clean with no obvious burnt components. Any comments or suggestions are most welcome.
Most of the time the failures are not visible to the eye. There is a failed component(s). The unit would have to be properly troubleshooted to determine the failed part(s).
Many times in these units, I have seen the output transistors and their associated drivers fail, including some of their support components. On some occasions it was only the protection relay, a blown fuse, or something simple.
If you are not experienced in this type of service, you will have to take your set to a service center to have it repaired.
