Recently, the volume on the beeper of my LG washing machine - Model WM2277H decreased considerably. The settings still go from "off" to "high" in 4 steps, but now the "high" setting volume is as loud as the lowest setting of the matching dryer. The sound comes from the main control PCB in the left rear of the washing machine. I removed the top of the machine to make sure nothing fell in front of the main PCB thinking that the sound was being blocked or muffled. Does anyone know if there is any type of "adjustment" for the volume, either on the main control PCB or one the Display PCB? If not, is the volume controlled in the Display PCB or is it a function of the Main PCB? I have the LG service manual for this model, but there is no diagnosis for troubleshooting the beeper part of the Display panel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! J.R.

It is very likely that the "beeper" in your washing machine is a little piezoelectric sounder in a (usually black) plastic can.
I've seen these fail before, and it seems like a common mode of failure is to have suddenly reduced volume. You might be able to get one from a scrap circuit board (many modern modems have them, as do some motherboards) and use that as a replacement. Or you could buy one new--just look for piezoelectric buzzers or beepers.
