Kikusui COS 5041 TM, 40 MHz scope, 1986

Absolutely nothing on the display, even in darkened room at switch off. PDA/EHT of 7.2 KV and voltages at the CRT base of -1100 to -1750 Heater continuity . Extremely good blanking.

Anyone know where to get the pinning of the CRT Misubishi 150CXB31T ? mitsubishichips no use

I'd looked there but you must be better at translating

than I am

I suspect something wrong in the intensity /Z axis control. 7KV etc should give some sort of display , but with severe distortion.

My link points to an English language manual.

You must have downloaded the Japanese version:

Maybe you could find a similar CRT number in the following lists of CRTs:

B31 appears to a phosphor type, so maybe the "B31" part of the number isn't significant.

I'll have to suck it and see. Y leads are obvious as are heater.

4 thin insulation wires , 2 would be X and then astigmatism & geometry probably. Then a matter of knob twiddling while monitoring on the thick sleeved wires for the G1,G2,A1,A2 leads for focus and intensity

Have you tried contacting Kikusui themselves ? They have an English language website, and as it's a 'legacy' item, they might be prepared to help.

I never know how much a 300 meg,30KV, 1000:1 divider would pull down EHT. If it measured more than 10K then I would be concerned.

THX for the link. So I downloaded an updated manual for my COS6100M oscilloscope (2x100MHz). I had only a COS6100 manual with the used osci. However it's a great equipment.

They have also a manual for the COS5041TM (without spaces!)

Something wrong with wiring/connectors to the CRT heater, the orange glow is visible under the shielding now attended to and the scope is working.

Scale illumination lamps blown, unloaded supply, at maximum of pot control is 19.5V to paired up bulbs. Anyone ever tried droppered blue or white LEDs for such purposes. Would require a reflector on the LED axis to throw light off radially. Otherwise it will probably have to be 24V bulbs going in there.
