I haven't yet come across a dead pixel on a plasma set, but then I haven't seen nearly as many of them as I have LCD displays of one sort or another.
I saw one on a Pioneer plasma set in a store a few years ago. It was bright green and flashed randomly. Andy Cuffe

TFTs actually work in the opposite way to what many people might think- an energised pixel goes black and a non-energised pixel is clear, ie lit. When a pixel is energised it becomes opaque, blocks out the backlight and appears black. If the fault was down to an open transistor at that pixel location then theoretically shorting out that transistor would cause the pixel to turn black. I don't know how that would be achieved though, it could be tricky!
If the lit pixel is caused by a break in continuity between the pixel and its associated transistor that connection would have to be remade somehow, and I expect that would be impossible or at least not technically and financially viable or otherwise TFT repair facilities would offer such services.
