Is this a good idea? These are older Realistic headphones (Nova series) and as far as I know, don't come apart... My concern is saturating the set with too much chemical cleaner from a health standpoint...

Depending on the cleaner most, if not all, of the bad stuff evaporates fairly quickly. electricitym
