Watertight boxes

Jun 12, 2008 8 Replies

I'm looking for a cheap watertight box about 10" long by 3.5" wide by

2.5" tall. I can't seem to find anything via DigiKey or Mouser. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't care what material it is, cost is the main factor. $30 or less would be great.

Thank you-

Search on "nema enclosure" and "ip enclosure" for others.

If you're building the device and can fiddle with the layout, there's the old PVC pipe trick.

Any ordinary box, filled up with epoxy after the electronics have been completed??

. . If, *instead* of using an email address for a username, you would use JUST A NAME--without a domain tacked on,

Long and Thin boxes are a bit thin on the ground. A while ago I needed one to go in a lighting column & the only thing I found was a diecast one from Rolec in their AluKOM range :

They also do some aimed at things like crane pendant controls which are in a long-thin format (conTrol range)

AutomationDirect.com has a variety of enclosures with a variety of NEMA ratings, for example:

I've purchased from AutomationDirect.com previously for a push-buton enclosure and I didn't have any problems with the transaction and was able to contact people by phone for questions.
