I have a toshiba TV, MD# MD20F11, tv/dvd. The remote stopped working, replaced the batteries and still does not work. i tried a universal remote, but it still does not work. Does anyone have any ideas? Or do i need to try a diffrent universal remote? Steve

You may not have programmed the universal with the correct code for your TV. It's been my experience that the one component most likely to fail in any remote is the IR LED. These can be easily unsoldered and replaced. Have another go at repairing the original.

Common problem with any battery toy like that is corrosion on the spring contacts. Could knock it off with a nail file.
