Wrong again, I live in western Italy. They don't speak Latin here, the Spanish border is 10hrs by train away. We have some Latin speaking people in the north, also in Switzerland (Raeto-Romanic), but I'm not familiar with these languages.

?There is no Italy / Spanish border unless you disregard France and Monaco. I suppose disregarding France is usually an acceptable option to us Englishmen but in terms of geographical explanations probably not so good.
