maplin cases

Hi all,

Maplin no longer do me fav case, which is annoying, but it was a metal case, top was a nice blue colour with vents, paint was like rough and almost indestructable, anyway, does anyone know who made these cases ? Maplin said EMS supplied them, though cant find any ref. to EMS with respect to encolsures, any one any ideas ? or know any good sites for metal encolsures ?

TIA, Chris

I think I know the range you mean, all steel 2-piece, rough blue top, smooth cream base & panels. I've had one for years, and as you say the paint lasts. ;-)

Rapid Electronics do a few "The top is made from 1mm thick steel with black epoxy finish and the bottom, including front and rear panels, from 1.5mm thick natural anodised aluminium. The two halves snap fit together but four self tapping screws are also provided for additional security.",

Farnell do some but £20 minimum order, RS also do plenty, no minimum order.

When did Rapid Electronics get a proper website? I quite liked the

56MB PDF. Ye gods, you can even order on-line now. It'll all go downhill now, mark my words.
